InuYasha
Race: Half Demon/Half Human
InuYasha is a half demon, and a half human. He is the son of a powerful demon father and a caring human mother. He
has a brother named Sessho-maru, who is quite strong and has the ability to transform into an enormous, power-thirsty wolf-like
demon creature, unlike InuYasha. Fifty years ago, InuYasha was pinned to a tree and was kept into a suspended state by a priestess
InuYasha deeply loved named Kikyo. Fifty years later, InuYasha is freed by a human teenaged girl named Kagome, a reincarnated
version of the former deceased Kikyo. Strangely, Kagome was fidgeting with InuYasha's demon ears to let go her nervousness.
Warned by Kikyo's younger sister Kiadhae (who is fifty-years-old) to not take out the scared enchanted arrow which
was bolted into InuYasha by Kikyo to keep him suspended onto the tree, Kagome interestingly pulled out the arrow with all
her strength. Afterwards, a long millipede-like demon was after Kagome (who mysteriously had the pieces of the Shikon Jewel
infused in her) because she had the Shikon Jewels (Shikon no Tama; Jewel of Four Souls) in her. Piercing its
teeth into Kagome's body to get the Shikon Jewel out and was successful, the evil demon was quickly destroyed by InuYasha's
miraculous claws. Later on, the Shikon Jewel incredibly is scattered into pieces and now InuYasha and Kagome must join forces
to find all the pieces of the magical gem -- with allies such as Shippo, Miroku, and Sango.
Kagome Higurashi
Race:
Human
Kagome is a 15-year-old high school student
from present day Japan. Living with her mother, her younger brother Sota, and her grandfather in a Japanese home on the estate
of a very old shrine temple. Kagome led a normal life until she fell into the Bone Eaters Well and was mysteriously transported
to the Sengoku Era of feudal Japan. After she arrived, she was attacked by a millipede-like demon named Mistress Centipede.
On the ancient tree, see saw the appearance of a young half demon named InuYasha. Although she was warned by Kikyo’s
younger (who is now fifty-years-old) sister Kaede to not take out the magical arrow, which was infused into InuYasha by Kikyo,
who is the reincarnation of Kagome, to suspend him on the tree for decades, Kagome pulled out the enchanted arrow letting
free InuYasha. Soon after meeting the village, which she had landed in, she learns that she holds a magical gem in her body
known as the Shikon Jewel (Jewel of Four Souls). The jewel is soon extracted and split into thousands of shards. InuYasha,
wanting the Shikon Jewel, with Kagome must join together as forces to retrieve every jewel shard of the Shikon Jewel for InuYasha
to become a full demon. Kagome and InuYasha’s relationship gets off to a rough start. Kagome’s appearance and
somewhat personality reminds InuYasha of Kikyo, the priestess that cast the spell on him, and whom he was deeply in love with.
Throughout their adventures, Kagome and InuYasha become closer, but Urasue resurrects Kikyo, and then their relationship is
put on hold while InuYasha tries to sort out his feelings for Kikyo. Kagome’s bravery is something exactly which the
quest InuYasha, and soon to be Sango, Miroku and Shippo’s quest. And to add to that, Kagome, likewise to Kikyo, is able
to use a bow and arrow extremely perfectly and has a good aim on enemies and opponents. Kagome also has another power, by
saying the words "Sit Boy", she can make InuYasha immediately sit down on the ground instantly after she says the words.
Shippo
Race: Full Fox Demand
Shippo is a small
full fox demand. Shippo has no family members only the friends that he travels with on dangerous quest to find the sacred
Shikon Jewel. When Shippo’s father set on an adventure to find his young foxling some food, Shippo’s father was
obliterated by two people (or should I say demands) called the “Thunder Brothers”, and all that is left of him
is his father’s fur. He had a mother but her disappearance is still unknown. After Shippo had heard about his father’s
gruesome death he set out to seek revenge on the murderous Thunder Brothers. Unsuccessfully he did not kill the thunder brothers
because he knew he was too week and pitiful, but he kept his word and he did get his revenge he desired not from his hands
but from the sharp claws of the half demand Inu Yasha. Shippo was now left alone in the world to fend for himself until he’s
a new friends Inu Yasha and Kagome (mostly Kagome) invited him to join the soon unforgettable quest to search for the Shikon
Jewel. Shippo is slowly getting over the fact that his father is gone forever and he won’t see him until he crosses
into his world but it will be a long time till that day.
Sango
Race: Human
Sango came from a family of professional demon slayers. When she was
with her little brother Kohaku on his first demon extermination, a village had been attacked by a spider demon. So Sango,
Kohaku, their father, and the rest of their comrades came to the village to destroy it. However, Naraku was pulling the strings
in this fight. He posed as the village leader's son (the leader was really one of Naraku's puppets) and he used the spider
demon's web to control Kohaku's mind and forced him to attack the other demon slayers. Using his blade weapon, Kohaku unknowingly
killed his father and all his companions! When he went after Sango, she tried her best to snap him out of it. But Naraku convinced
the villagers that the two slayers had gone crazy, and should be killed. So the villagers attacked, killing Kohaku and severely
injuring Sango. While Naraku pretended to take care of Sango, he also made a demon puppet of himself, and he purposely spoke
to the puppet just so Sango would overhear him. He said that InuYasha had attacked her village and killed everyone and that
InuYasha was responsible for it all! After hearing this, Sango became filled vengeance and despair, and was determined to
kill InuYasha at all costs. But when she attacked, InuYasha and the others convinced her that Naraku was the real villain.
Not only that, but Naraku had put a Jewel shard inside Kohaku so that he could revive him and control him. He also erased
all of Kohaku's memories of Sango and his life as a demon slayer. And so, Sango joined InuYasha's group in order to kill Naraku
to avenge her people and to free Kohaku from his clutches. Accompanying Sango is her reliable and good-natured demon cat,
Kirara. Even though she tries to hide it, Sango is still filled with anguish over the fact that Kohaku remains under Naraku's
control, and beyond her reach. At one point, she thought that the only way to free him was to kill him, and then kill her
so that he wouldn't have to die alone again. But InuYasha and the others convinced her that there's still hope for Kohaku,
since it seems that very slowly he's regaining bits of his old self. But even with this sorrowful weight on her heart, Sango
is still a valuable member of the team. In addition to her many demon slaying tactics, her main weapon is her giant boomerang
Hiraikotsu (translated as "flying bone") that can cut most demons in half with one strike. Eventually, Sango also developed
feelings for Miroku, although she's very shy in dealing with them. But of course, the fact that Miroku makes passes to every
other pretty girl he meets, and the fact that he shows his affection for her by groping her doesn't help strengthen their
relationship very much. Although the lustful monk's antics irritate Sango to no end, when it comes to facing difficult battles
together, the two of them make a great team.
